Carol Muske-Dukes is the author of seven collections of poetry, including Sparrow and most recently Twin Cities, as well as four novels, the most recent of which, Channeling Mark Twain, was a National Book Award finalist in 2007. She is the founder of the doctoral Program in Creative Writing and Literature at the University of Southern California and currently teaches there.
